When I Said Goodbye was a stand-out music video for Steps as it was their first one made in black and white.
It was designed to have a more up-market feel to match the classy orchestral ballad from the Steptacular album.
The video was shot in Rome, Italy back in March 2000 - and because the director used 35mm film, the video could be remastered in stunning ultra-high defintion 4K.
When we were scanning the negatives, we were delighted to discover the video was actually shot on colour film and desaturated during post production.
So, we offered to remaster the video in full colour so that the full beauty of the original footage could be seen for the first time.
The remastered and regraded colour video was premiered on YouTube on 7 October 2022.
Of course, we also produced a version in black and white, faithfully recreating the look and feel of the original video, so that fans had the best of both worlds.
